A Good Reason To Be Bad (Part 14)
“That’s impossible; you have no eggs,” Reggie blurted out, unintentionally hurting his wife's feelings.
“God can perform miracles; have you lost your faith?” she replied, her voice tight with frustration.
Reggie took a deep breath, “What about Esaaba then? What should I do?”
“It’s only a suspicion. If she’s pregnant, it doesn’t even matter. You can ask her to get rid of it and tell her you’re married,” Nancy replied, almost dismissively. The suggestion made Reggie bristle; how could she think it would be that simple? Esaaba hadn’t done anything wrong, and he felt responsible.
“Esaaba is a good person; she doesn’t deserve this,” he said firmly, surprising Nancy, who grew annoyed at his defense of Esaaba.
“From what I can tell, she’s no saint. She’s quick to date a man with a car, a nice house, and a job. Hasn’t she been your side chick for years?” Nancy fired back accusingly.
“What?” Reggie exclaimed, utterly confused. “I didn’t even know her before this. This mess was all your idea—remember?”
Nancy shook her head. “It was your idea to use her. So handle it. Ask her to take a pregnancy test, and if she’s pregnant, she has to get rid of it.”
Reggie clenched his fists. “Nancy, you’ll need to take a pregnancy test first. I need to know if you’re actually pregnant.”
Nancy's face darkened with rage. “So you trust her over me now? Get out!” She began throwing things at him in a fury. Reggie, beyond frustrated, left to cool down and found himself at his friend Reuben’s house. When Reuben opened the door, groggy from sleep, Reggie groaned, “I think I got two women pregnant at the same time!”
