A Good Reason To Be Bad (Part 6)
Reggie was at the mall with his best friend, Reuben, when two girls in their twenties strolled past them, clearly on a mission as they moved from shelf to shelf. Reggie couldn’t help but steal glances at them until Reuben finally broke the silence.
“Which one? The one in the blue blouse?” he whispered, a teasing glint in his eye.
Reggie snapped back to reality, startled by the question. “What are you talking about?” he replied, feigning innocence.
“Stop pretending! I know you were looking at those girls. If you want one of them, hurry up and approach them before they leave. I won’t tell your wife,” Reuben said with a smirk.
Reggie tried to act offended, but Reuben saw right through him. “You’re wasting time. I’ll approach them on your behalf. Just remember to take off your ring before you follow my lead,” he warned, a mischievous grin spreading across his face.
Without missing a beat, Reuben whipped off his own ring and strutted toward the girls, leaving Reggie torn between amusement and a hint of temptation as he watched his friend make his move.
Reggie followed closely behind Reuben, wearing a sheepish smile as he approached the girls. “Hello, ladies. We couldn’t help but notice you, so we had to come over and say hi. What are your names?”
One of the girls, clearly uninterested, barely looked at them and bluntly said, “I have a boyfriend,” before turning back to the shelf, trying to pull her friend away.
But the other girl, the one Reggie had his eye on, smiled shyly. Sensing his opportunity, Reggie quickly interjected, “Don’t tell me you have a boyfriend too.”
She shook her head, but then added, “But we’re in a hurry…” glancing nervously at her friend, who was already moving further away.
“No worries,” Reggie said, keeping his cool. He handed her his phone. “Just give me your number, I’ll call you.”
She hesitated for a second, sizing him up. He was well-built, clean-cut, and his smile had a way of drawing her in. She couldn’t believe her luck. With a small smile, she quickly entered her number and made to walk off, but Reggie gently stopped her.
“And your name?” he asked, flashing his charming grin.
“Esaaba,” she said, before scampering off to catch up with her friend.
As soon as she was out of earshot, Reuben turned to Reggie with a smirk. “I hope your wife won’t leave you for this,” he teased.
Reggie chuckled, shaking his head. “This is exactly what she wants,” he muttered under his breath, thinking about Nancy's recent insistence on bringing other women into their lives.
That night, when Reggie got home, he couldn’t wait to tell Nancy about his encounter at the mall. “I met someone,” he started, a mischievous glint in his eye. “She reminds me of you—humble, polite, and she doesn’t seem like the type to cause trouble. Very well-mannered, home-trained.”
Nancy raised an eyebrow, slightly suspicious. “I don’t like how you’re praising her. Where exactly do you know her from? Do you have a plan in mind?”
Reggie leaned back, a sly smile playing on his lips. “I met her at the mall today. Got her number and texted her. You know what’s interesting? She responded right away. You know what that means, right? She likes me.”
He winked, and Nancy couldn’t help but smile in return. “Who wouldn’t? You’re the best man in town.” She paused, eyeing him carefully. “So, what’s the plan? Spill it.”
Reggie’s grin widened. “I have a script for this plan, a perfect one. If you follow it to the letter, we’ll be proud parents soon without spending a fortune.”
A diabolical smile slowly crept across Nancy’s face, matching the devious energy in Reggie’s.
