It Was a Hit and Run Affair Until it Wasn't
I had heard plenty about Daisy—how easy she was, how almost every guy in the neighborhood had “had a taste” of her. Everyone but me. I couldn't understand why; I’m good-looking, well-built, and have a stable job. So, when I ran into her with my friend Kofi, I decided to take my chance. I even asked, “Is that your woman?” Kofi shook his head and quickly introduced us.
After she left, I asked Kofi for her number, which he gladly gave but warned, “Just hit and run. She’s not the kind of girl you stay with.”
“Come on, do I look like a simp?” I laughed it off.
And just like they said, Daisy was easy to win over—it didn’t even take a week before she was in my bed. She kept coming over after that, and soon enough, she stopped hanging out with the other guys. At first, I didn’t mind. But then she started talking about relationships, and before I knew it, she had practically moved in, bringing her things one by one.
One day, she mentioned, “Mummy asked about you. She wants you to stop by and say hi.”
Before I knew it, Daisy had brought her mother over to my apartment! She even started insisting we stop using protection. Things were getting out of hand, so I asked her to move out. The next day, her mother called, “Please be gentle with my daughter; we’re praying for you two—and for the wedding!”
The boys in the hood were laughing at me. I was in a mess and didn’t know how to get out. Finally, I confided in Kofi. I told him everything, and he laughed.
“Guess you’re the only one with the job she likes. I hope you didn’t tell her you had money?”
“Not really,” I sighed, “but my girlfriend will be back soon, and if Daisy’s still here, I’m in big trouble.”
Kofi chuckled, “There’s one solution. Move back to your parents’ place.”

I hated the idea, but the next morning, Daisy mentioned that she’d missed her period. I knew it wasn’t mine; I hadn’t been with her in weeks because of all the stress she was putting me through. So, I talked to my landlord, explained the situation, and asked if he’d refund the remainder of my rent. When he agreed, I packed up while Daisy was out with friends, moved back to my parents' place, and blocked her on everything.
Now that the drama is over, I’m searching for a new place. Let me know if you hear of any—I’m a guy who’s definitely learned his lesson.
